Experts Responsible for the Republic of Moldova-NATO Partnership Planning and Review Process at the Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, May 23, 2018 — A group of experts responsible for the Republic of Moldova-NATO Partnership Planning and Review Process (PARP) are paying a visit to the Republic of Moldova within May 22-24, 2018.

According to chief of Defense Policy and Planning Directorate, Col. Alexandru Harea, the visit’s aim is to assess the current stage of implementation of the Partnership Objectives set by the Republic of Moldova in the framework of PARP and their adjustment in compliance with the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI) to which our country has been accepted in September, 2014.

The source specified that the experts will meet with specialists from the Ministry of Defense and General Staff, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Ministry of Finances, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Security and Intelligence Service.

Andrew Cullen, PARP specialist of the NATO Defense Policy and Planning Division, highly appreciated the efforts made by the Ministry of Defense and other force institutions for achieving the objectives set by our country and aimed to modernize the defense and security sector and mentioned that the group of experts will continue to offer support and expertise in this field.

The Partnership Planning and Review Process is a defense planning methodology developed by NATO for its partners and is based on the defense planning system currently used by all Western countries.

The Republic of Moldova joined PARP in 1997.
