10 Journalists – Soldiers for 24 Hours



BALTI, May 26, 2018 — The Ministry of Defense is organizing the project “24 Hours in the National Army” within May 26-27, 2018. The representatives of 10 media institutions from the Republic of Moldova are participating in the project.

The action has the objective to consolidate the cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and the Moldovan media institutions and to inform the mass-media representatives about the missions, objectives, and priorities of the defense institution for 2018-2019.

Within the project, the journalists study the medical-military training, shooting techniques and tactics, as well as CBRN defense. The scenario also includes receiving equipment, moving with military vehicles, setting the tent, accommodation, and firing National Army’s infantry weapons. The mass-media representatives are also informed about the Program “Professional Army 2018-2021” and the training of service members of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion in compliance with the Operational Capability Concept (OCC).

This year, the activity was attended by journalists from PRO TV, Canal 3, Moldova 1, Radio Moldova, TV8, TV Nord, Gagauzia Public Tele-radio Company (GRT), and Diez.

This is the third edition of the project organized by the communication department of the Ministry of Defense, together with the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion and with the support of “Moldova” Brigade from Balti.

The first edition was conducted at “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade in 2006, while the second — at Bulboaca in 2012.
