The Honor Guard Marches at Military Parade in Kiev



CHISINAU, August 24, 2018 — National Army service members attended today the military parade organized on the Independence Day of Ukraine. The event was conducted on Khreshchatyk Boulevard in Kiev and was attended by State Secretary, Vladimir Iliev.

The platoon consisting of 30 officers, NCOs, and soldiers of the Honor Guard Company was commanded by Maj. Vasile Ojoga, while the State Flag was borne by SFC Valerii Bat.

This year, 4,500 Ukrainian service members with 250 military vehicles marched at the military parade in Kiev. The event was attended by contingents from 13 countries — Austria, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Republic of Moldova, Poland, Romania, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States of America.

The Republic of Moldova is participating in the military parade in Ukraine for the second year in a row.
