Start for “Fire Shield – 2018” Exercise



Chisinau, September 17, 2018 — The opening ceremony for the multinational exercise “Fire Shield — 2018” took place today at the National Army Military Training Base from Bulboaca.

According to deputy chief of General Staff, Col. Eduard Ohladciuc, the exercise is conducted within September 17-21, 2018 and its goal is the joint training of artillery subunits and to increase the level of interoperability between the armies of partner countries.

The source specified that the trainings are organized at military training centers from all the garrisons and are attended by almost 800 service members from the Republic of Moldova (officers and NCOs of the National Army and Carabineer Troops Department), Romania, and the United States of America.

“Fire Shield” is conducted for the forth year in a row in the Republic of Moldova and is part of the National Army’s training plan for 2018.
