Republic of Moldova Has a Military Attaché to the USA for the First TimeCHISINAU, October 8, 2018 — The Ministry of Defense appointed a military attaché in the United States of America for the first time. The decision was taken by the institution’s leadership in order to promote the defense strategic dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the USA. The military diplomat — Col. Vitalie Micov — will be responsible for ensuring an efficient cooperation between the defense institutions of the two countries, identifying new opportunities for developing and enhancing the partnership between the National Army of the Republic of Moldova and the Armed Forces of the USA. Minister of Defense Eugen Sturza met with the military attaché before his deployment to Washington and wished him success during his mandate. Eugen Sturza mentioned that the USA are a strategic partner of the Republic of Moldova and consolidating the military cooperation is a priority for the Ministry of Defense. “The vast experience you have acquired within National Army command structures and the education you have got, including in the USA, will help you establish an efficient communication with the American partners, communication that will translate into new projects and initiatives that will benefit both armies”, said Minister of Defense to Col. Micov.
