Ministry of Defense and Center of Information Technology in Finance to Cooperate in the Area of Ensuring Cyber Security



CHISINAU, October 26, 2018 — Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova and Public Institution “Center of Information Technology in Finance” (PICITF) concluded, for the first time, a cooperation agreement on ensuring cyber security and fighting the new threats to the state’s security.

The document has been signed today by State Secretary for development of human resources policies, military education and planning of resources, Vladimir Iliev, and PICITF Director, Corneliu Jaloba, at the defense institution’s headquarters.

According to deputy chief of Communication and Information Systems Directorate of the General Staff, Col. Iulian Strunga, by signing this agreement, the two institutions will join efforts in order to enhance institutional capacities in the area of information and cyber security.

The source specified that the document includes a series of actions such as: organizing training activities — seminars, conferences, workshops; participating in projects and programs of mutual interest; exchanging experience on cyber security incidents, new vulnerabilities; identifying certain types of cyber attacks, the operating methods of criminal groups specialized in cyber crimes; and exchanging experience on procedures and techniques necessary for investigating cyber incidents.
