Representatives of the Ministry of Defense at the Romanian-USA and Republic of Moldova Defense Forum



Chisinau, November 29, 2018 — On November 28, a delegation of the Ministry of Defense, led by General State Secretary Radu Burduja, attended the Romanian-USA and Republic of Moldova Defense Forum organized in Bucharest.

On this occasion, the General State Secretary thanked for the invitation offered for the first time to our country to participate in this event organized by the Ministry of National Defense of Romania and the American-Romanian Business Council. Radu Burduja said that this Forum is an efficient platform for identifying cooperation opportunities on both bilateral and trilateral level, as well as between ministries and American and Romanian defense industry companies.

“The Ministry of Defense has the objective to build the National Army capabilities, with a focus on acquiring modern equipment and vehicles and in order to reach this objective that is part of the Moldovan defense sector’s reformation, we need to initiate a transparent cooperation with the defense industries of partner countries,” said the General State Secretary.

While in Bucharest, Radu Burduja met with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dan Neculaescu. The official appreciated the constant and efficient cooperation with the Republic of Moldova in the fields of logistics, defense capacity building, military education, standardization of training for National Army military, as well as increasing interoperability between armies.
