Moldovan-Lithuanian Cooperation Discussed at Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, January 24, 2019 — General State Secretary, Radu Burduja, met today with the Ambassador of Lithuania in the Republic of Moldova, Kęstutis Kudzmanas.

The achievements in reforming the National Army and the bilateral military cooperation within international organizations were the main topics discussed by the two officials.

Radu Burduja informed Kęstutis Kudzmanas about the current stage of implementation of the defense programs and strategic documents that have been developed with the foreign partners’ support and presented the institution’s goals for 2019 including the professionalization of the National Army, enhancement of military capabilities, and intensification of Moldova’s participation in international stabilization and peacekeeping operations.

The General State Secretary also appreciated the contribution of the Lithuanian Government to the linguistic and specialized training of National Army staff in educational institutions from the Baltic States.

Kęstutis Kudzmanas welcomed the achievements of the Ministry of Defense in the process of reformation and stated that Lithuania will continue to support the National Army through joint projects and training.
