Moldovan-Romanian Cooperation Discussed at Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, February 28, 2019 — A delegation of the Ministry of National Defense (MoND) of Romania, led by Secretary of State Andrei Ignat, is paying a visit to the Republic of Moldova during February 27-28, 2019.

While in Chisinau, the delegation met with General State Secretary Radu Burduja and discussed issues related to the bilateral military cooperation, with a focus on the defense sector’s reform and building defense capabilities of the two defense institutions.

The officials also talked about the regional situation and the challenges of the security environment, as well as about intensifying the military-technical cooperation in compliance with the Program “Professional Army” and National Defense Strategy.

The representatives of the MoND also met with chiefs of departments of the Ministry of Defense and General Staff and established the main directions of cooperation between the National Army of the Republic of Moldova and the Romanian Army.
