Soldiers from Cahul Take Military Oath

CHISINAU, March 27, 2019 — Over 100 soldiers enlisted in “Dacia” Brigade in January took the military oath today during a ceremony organized in Cahul and attended by representatives of the National Army Commanding Corps, parents and relatives, as well as students of the military department of State University “Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu” from Cahul.

On this occasion, Brig. Gen. Igor Cutie, National Army Commander, congratulated the soldiers and mentioned that the military service is an important stage in the life of every young man who has chosen to serve the Motherland.

Gen. Cutie asked the young men to be responsible while carrying out their missions and tasks and, at the end of the mandatory military service, to join the army’s professional service members and to contribute, through personal example, to the enhancement of the institution’s image among society.

The guests also attended a program of square-bashing and wrestling exercises. The event included an exhibition of the unit’s weapons and vehicles.

After taking the military oath, the soldiers get a four-day leave.

The mandatory military service lasts 12 months.
