Cooperation Agreement Signed by Ministry of Defense and Center "Partnership for Development"CHISINAU, March 29, 2019 — The Ministry of Defense signed a cooperation agreement with National Women’s Studies and Information Center "Partnership for Development“(CPD), a non-governmental organization that promotes gender equity values as an integral part of an open society to consolidate an authentic gender partnership. The document was signed by State Secretary Vladimir Iliev and CPD Executive Director, Alexei Buzu at the Ministry of Defense on March 28, 2019. The cooperation agreement provides for initiating and developing joint projects, supporting the implementation of the Action plan on the implementation of the Strategy for ensuring equality between men and women in the Republic of Moldova for In order to implement the Agreement, the two institutions will organize bilateral consultations on both leadership level and experts level, training activities having a scientific character, conferences, round tables, workshops, seminars. During the last two years, the Center “Partnership for Development” has contributed significantly to the building and development of Ministry of Defense’s institutional capacities in the area of ensuring and promoting Human Rights and especially in implementing the gender equality and equity principles and implementing the Agenda “Women, Peace, and Security”. The cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and the Center “Partnership for Development” is based on the Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Defense and the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women (UN Women) signed on July 17, 2018. |
