CHISINAU, April 13, 2019 — The military and civilian staff of “Moldova” Brigade celebrated today the unit’s 27th anniversary during a ceremony attended by representatives of the National Army General Staff Commanding Corps, local public administration, veterans, and pupils.

The chief of Doctrine and Joint Training Directorate, Col. Octavian Varzari, congratulated the unit’s staff on the occasion of the anniversary and specified that each service member had an essential contribution to the Brigade’s development and reformation.

In this regard, Col. Varzari referred to the soldiers’ performances during bilateral and multinational exercises, UN, EU, OSCE led international peacekeeping missions, and operations conducted in the support of local public authorities — all these actions having a major contribution to the improvement of the defense institution’s capabilities.

The military official assured that, presently, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and National Army has the objective to create an optimal working environment for the entire military and civilian staff through projects of renovation of military units’ buildings, procurement of equipment and vehicles, trainings, and offering military housing.

During the ceremony, the unit’s soldiers demonstrated wrestling exercises and organized a weapons and military equipment exhibition. The Brigade’s orchestra presented a concert.

“Moldova” Brigade from Balti was established on April 10, 1992, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova.
