British Officials at Ministry of Defense
CHISINAU, June 19, 2019 — General State Secretary, Radu Burduja, met today with the representative of the Defense Academy of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, LTC Jonathan Dowd.
The British defense attaché, squadron commander Rob Hall, also attended the talks which regarded the organization of the Managing Defence in the Wider Security Context Course (MDWSCC). The Course is organized together with the UK Ministry of Defense and will take place in Chisinau, during September
The British military officials also met with the chiefs of Defense Policy and Planning, International Cooperation, and Strategic Planning Directorates that are involved in the course’s planning.
The Managing Defence in the Wider Security Context Course will be organized in the Republic of Moldova for the first time. The training will include seven modules that constitute the foundation of the national defense system, such as: managing the defense and security system, developing policies and strategies, defense transformation, and defense management.
According to chief of Defense Policy and Planning Directorate, Col. Gheorghe Oarza, the activity will contribute to enhance cooperation with the UK Ministry of Defense and ensures the exchange of experience on security and defense, as well as increases interoperability with foreign partners.
The Course is destined for defense personnel and representatives of Governmental institutions who have leadership positions and are involved in the decision-making on the implementation of security and defense policies.
The activity is included in the Bilateral Plan on the Moldovan-British Cooperation for 2019 and the Foreign Activity Plan of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army for 2019.
