A New Class of Officers in the National Army
CHISINAU, June 21, 2019 — The graduation ceremony of the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” was held today in the Triumphal Arch Square, in the center of Chisinau. During the event, 52 graduates of the institution received their diplomas and the military rank of “lieutenant” in the presence of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, National Army Commanding Corps, military attaches accredited to our country, relatives and parents.
Minister of Defense Pavel Voicu congratulated the young lieutenants on occasion of their graduation and for their academic results. “I know from personal experience that you, the military students, had a different way of life than the civilian students — it was stricter, more difficult and demanding. At the same time, the experience, knowledge, and skills gathered during the student years were worth all the effort and I trust that they will help you to face the challenges and to excel in your future activity,” said Pavel Voicu.
The Minister of Defense appreciated the work of the Military Academy’s teaching staff that, over the course of four years, have taken care to train and educate the students to love learning, science and innovations.
“Dear students, your professors have done an enormous work and their activity’s results have been seen during the exams that were passed brilliantly. You must know that your paths do not split here. Many times, you will come back for their advice — they have more experience and, believe me, they will have solutions for the difficulties you will face,” mentioned Minister Voicu.
During the ceremony, the best graduates — Cristina and Corina Sirbu, Catalina Mindru and Vasile Celpan — received the “Cross of Merit”, 3rd class.
The class of 2019 has 52 graduates, out of which eight young women and 44 young men. They studied three specialties: infantry, artillery, and communications.
The Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” is a member of the Partnership for Peace Consortium and has two faculties: military science and public administration.
The institution also includes a center of defense and security strategic studies, a continuous training center and a Language Learning Center.
