National Army Service Members at “Agile Hunter 2019”

CHISINAU, June 28, 2019 — A National Army contingent left today for California, USA, aboard a Boeing 767-200, in order to participate in the exercise “Agile Hunter 2019”.

According to Col. Serghei Chilivnic, contingent’s commander, the over 100 Moldovan officers and NCOs will train with American soldiers, including service members of the North Carolina National Guard, at Fort Irwin National Training Center in California, during June 28 — July 19, 2019.

The exercise’s objective is to increase the level of interoperability between the two armies’ subunits, to build defense capacities, and to train the Moldovan soldiers for peacekeeping operations.

The participation of the Moldovan service members in the training in the USA is included in the Plan of foreign activity of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army for 2019.

“Agile Hunter” is organized through the Partnership Program with North Carolina National Guard and is conducted for the fourth year in a row. The first two editions took place in the Republic of Moldova, while last year it was organized at Fort Bliss, Texas, during August 10-28.
