The Ministry of Defense and the State Protection and Guard Service have concluded, for the first time, a collaboration agreement



CHISINAU, August 14, 2019 - The Ministry of Defense and the State Protection and Guard Service (SPGS) have today concluded, for the first time, a collaboration agreement.

The document was signed by the Minster of Defense, Pavel Voicu and by the director of SPGS, Iaroslav Martin, at the headquarters of the defense institution.

Under the agreement, the structures will cooperate in various areas, including strengthening the national security and defense system, joint implementation of provisions in national defense and sectorial strategies and policies in the fields of national defense and security, crisis and emergency management, training and professional development of personnel, technical security of infrastructure and others.

Thus, for the implementation of the document, the two institutions will organize visits, consultations and working meetings, exchange activities and information obtained from official sources. Also, the representatives of the structures will participate jointly in training activities, courses, exercises and workshops in the areas of competence, as well as in specific projects and programs.

Minister Pavel Voicu mentioned that both the Ministry of Defense, as well as the SPPS, have tasks and missions, which have a connection with the security and defense of citizens and the state. “I am pleased that, from now on, we will have an efficient and consolidated collaboration with SPPS. This achievement will certainly benefit both institutions in terms of training and education of staff in the National Army polygons, ensuring the protection and guarding of strategic objects and state officials, and other relevant activities, ”said Pavel Voicu.

In his turn, Iaroslav Martin appreciated the responsiveness of the management of the defense institution to have a bilateral cooperation in the field and expressed his conviction that the employees of the two state structures will have the possibility to be interoperable in different situations, as required mission.

This Agreement is concluded for a period of 3 years and aims to create the legal framework necessary for the cooperation in order to execute the state missions of defense and security, training and development of the personnel, based on the mutual interest.
