Over 600 young soldiers Take Military Oath in the garrisons of Chisinau, Balti and CahulCHISINAU, August 16, 2019 - Over 600 young soldiers, who joined the National Army in June, today took the military oath in the garrisons of Chisinau, Balti and Cahul. Presenting the ceremony of the Guard Battalion, Defense Minister Pavel Voicu congratulated the about 100 soldiers for performing the functions in the first month of initial training and urged them to continue further the responsibility in carrying out the missions. "The performances that you displayed today during the ceremony, we all convinced ourselves that you have changed for the better. Those four weeks of the initial training disciplined you, organized you so that you are a part of a big family, the family of the National Army. I believe that not only your parents, but your commanders are proud of you as well, because you can march on the plateau of the Military Camp with a lot of confidence and dignity. Thus, you proved that your efforts haven’t been in vain" said Pavel Voicu. Pavel Voicu assured the young soldiers and their commanders that they can count on the institution`s support, expressing his hope that over a year, once the term is over, the young people will be in love with the military’s duty and will want to engage in basis of contract in the National Army. The guests present at the festivity followed a program of demonstrative exercises in frontal instruction and combat procedures. During the event, an exhibition of equipment and weapons from the unit was organized. The soldiers who swore allegiance to the Fatherland went on a five-day leave.Term military service lasts 12 months.
