Minister of Defense, in dialogue with the Ambassador of Lithuania to the Republic of Moldova
CHISINAU, September 10, 2019 - Minister of Defense Pavel Voicu had a meeting today with the Lithuanian Ambassador to our country, Kęstutis Kudzmanas.
Discussions between officials focused on the current state of sectoral reform and the priorities of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for its proper conduct, as well as on Moldovan-Lithuanian military cooperation and within international organizations.
Minister Voicu appreciated the contribution of the Government of Lithuania, in general, and of the Ministry of National Defense, in particular, to the modernization of the National Army through the training of personnel, the expertise in the transformation of the institution and the training within the multinational exercises.
Pavel Voicu mentioned that the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova continues to count on the support of Lithuanian partners in developing the operational capabilities of the National Army.
For his part, Kęstutis Kudzmanas said Lithuania is open to further assist in areas requested by the Moldovan Ministry of Defense.
At the same time, the diplomat presented to the Minister of Defense the new military attache of Lithuania in our country, Colonel Dainius Kazlauskas.
Pavel Voicu congratulated Colonel Kazlauskas on his appointment and wished him success in his term.
The Republic of Moldova and Lithuania have been cooperating in the military since November 2000.
