Over a thousand soldiers from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and the USA participate in the "Fire Shield - 2019"

Chisinau, September 16, 2019 - The National Army organizes, between September 16 and 20, at the Training Center of the National Army, the international exercise "Shield of Fire - 2019".

The trainings, in which over a thousand representatives of the force structures from the Republic of Moldova and the military from Romania and the United States of America are involved, aim at preparing the subunits of the National Army and increasing the interoperability of the military from the participating countries.

Also, about 150 units of military equipment and artillery systems, engineering equipment, off-road vehicles, trucks and aircraft are involved in the exercise.

The opening ceremony of the exercise took place today, in the presence of the commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan.

According to the scenario, the military will fire anti-tank missiles, bombers, cannons, anti-tank guns, self-propelled guns, howitzers, anti-tank guns, anti-aircraft guns, automatic grenade launchers.

At the same time, during the "Shield of Fire" exercise, the training of the Armed Forces reservists is planned. They will become familiar with the activity, equipment and equipment of the military units.

The "Shield of Fire" is carried out according to the training plan of the National Army in 2019.
