Infantrymen from Balti train for "Rapid Trident 2019"
CHISINAU, September 17, 2019 - Soldiers of the National Army participate, between September 12-29, in the multinational exercise "Rapid Trident 2019", held at the Yavoriv training center, Lvov region, Ukraine.
Increasing interoperability between the military of the participating states and preparing for international peacekeeping missions are the objectives of this year`s edition of the exercise.
According to the commander of the contingent, Captain Ivan Carasiov, in Ukraine, the 41 soldiers from the "Moldova" Brigade are part of an international battalion together with the soldiers of the Bulgarian, Romanian and Ukrainian armies and carry out missions included in the exercise scenario.
The quoted source mentioned that the participation in "Rapid Trident" contributes to the professional training of the military and the development of the combat capability of the subunits, the National Army.
The Republic of Moldova has been present at this exercise since 2007.
This year, "Rapid Trident" brings together about 3,700 soldiers from 14 countries.
