Moldovan-German military consultations held in Chisinau



CHISINAU, September 18, 2019 - The Moldovan-German military consultations took place between September 17-18 at the Center for Military Culture and History.

The activity, which was attended by representatives of the two defense institutions, aimed to evaluate bilateral cooperation and establish priorities, by identifying and implementing new projects.

The topics addressed during the consultations were the reform of the defense institution and the assistance provided by the German side in the context of the development of the National Army. It is about the training of the army, military medicine, as well as the endowment with specialized technique and equipment of any military units.

In Chisinau, the German delegation had a meeting with the Secretary of State, Aurel Fondos, during which the main activities on the defense dimension were discussed, including the process of implementing the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI). In this regard, Aurel Fondos appreciated the support provided by the Federal Republic of Germany in the training of military and civilian personnel of the National Army in specialized institutions as well as in specialized courses.

Also, the State Secretary referred to the technical assistance used for the development of the capabilities of the Armament and Ammunition Center of the National Army and the Base for the technical preservation of armaments and military patrimony in Floresti in the form of equipment and material goods.

The agenda of the activity also included a visit to the Base for the technical preservation of armaments and military patrimony in Floresti, where the transmission ceremony, from Germany, of a batch of equipment took place.

The donation, amounting to 50 thousand euros, consists of warehouses and mobile containers in which the ammunition will be temporarily stored, which is in the process of inspection.

Bilateral consultations were conducted in accordance with the Moldovan-German Cooperation Plan for 2019.
