The course in the field of Defense Management in the Context of Global Security, at the end
CHISINAU, September 20, 2019 - The graduation ceremony of the course in the field of Defense Management in the Context of Global Security (Managing Defense in the Wider Security Context) took place today at the Center for Military Culture and History.
Present at the festivity, Secretary of State Aurel Fondos congratulated the 22 graduates of the course and handed them, together with the Defense Attache of the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Squadron Commander Rob Hall, the graduation certificates.
The State Secretary mentioned that the training, which is a first for our country, is part of the "Professional Development Program", a program aimed at training civilian employees in the security and defense sector, as well as facilitating the process of elaboration and implementation of reforms in the public sector.
Aurel Fondos thanked the British Government for the decision to become a leading country in implementing the "Professional Development Program" for the Republic of Moldova and expressed confidence that the Ministry of Defense will benefit from more training in the field of defense.
According to the head of the Defense Policy and Defense Planning Directorate, Colonel Gheorghe Oarza, the course in the field of Defense Management in the Context of Global Security took place on September 9-20 in Chisinau and brought together representatives of central public authorities, Parliament, Government, The Reintegration Office, the Intelligence and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova, as well as within the governmental institutions from Romania, Ukraine and Georgia.
The training, organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova, jointly with the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, included seven modules underlying the national defense system - security and defense, international humanitarian law, policy making, strategies, leadership, defense transformation and defense management.
