An Arsenal of ammunition discovered by National Army engineers at Taraclia (video)
CHISINAU, October 22, 2019 - The engineers of the "Dacia" brigade found an arsenal of ammunition near the city of Taraclia.
According to the head of the Engineering Service, Lieutenant-Colonel Adrian Efros, the demining team of the unit, led by Lieutenant Aliona Bezman, was requested on Saturday, October 19, by a group of workers who were carrying out drainage works near the town of Taraclia.
Following the field research, the engineers discovered 307 artillery projectiles, 76 mm caliber, from the period of the Second World War. The genetic research works continue today in the area, and at the end of the research operation, the ammunition will be transported to the Brigade Training Center, where they will be destroyed in conditions of maximum security.
It should be mentioned that in the 10 months of this year, the engineers of the National Army defused 7350 explosive objects on the entire territory of the country.
NOTE: The Ministry of Defense warns that in areas where there is or is supposed to be ammunition, citizens are asked to notify the local authorities. In case of detection of unidentified explosive objects, it is strictly forbidden to touch the ammunition, to hit or move the ammunition found in the ground or on the surface, to disassemble the warheads or other components.
