The "Roads of Memory", action held in Chisinau

CHISINAU, December 3, 2019 - The Minister of Defense Victor Gaiciuc participated today in the ceremony of "transmitting the ash" from the Memorial Complex "Eternity" in the action "Roads of Memory".

The activity, held on this occasion at the Center for Military Culture and History, was attended by the Commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Chisinau, Oleg Vasnetov, representatives of the Office of the Russian Military Attaché and veterans.

The Minister of Defense stated that by organizing this event, the deeds of bravery of the fallen soldiers on the battlefields 75 years ago are kept in memory, which are an example of devotion and courage.

Victor Gaiciuc added that such an action would be welcome in the Republic of Moldova, so that in the National Army Museum in Chisinau there is a space to place earth capsules collected from all cemeteries, where the fallen soldiers from the World War II are buried.

It should be noted that the earth samples sent today to the Russian side were taken on Monday, December 2, from the graves of the soldiers from the "Eternity" Memorial Complex. The dust capsules will be shipped to Russia, where they will be installed at the foundation of the Central Cathedral of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the "Patriot" museum park near Moscow.
