Moldovan-Ukrainian dialogue at the Ministry of Defense
CHISINAU, December 10, 2019 - The aspects of bilateral cooperation on defense, the regional situation and the development directions of the National Army were discussed by the Minister of Defense Victor Gaiciuc and the Charge d`Affaires of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova, Volodimir Boeciko, in a meeting held at the Ministry of Defense.
Victor Gaiciuc informed Volodymyr Boeciko about the priorities of his mandate, which will focus on modernizing the institution, ensuring the social protection of the military and civilian staff and maintaining cooperative relations based on a balanced foreign policy, while respecting the status of neutrality.
In this regard, the Minister of Defense said that the Moldovan and Ukrainian armies have made progress in joint education and training of the two armies in multinational exercises, as well as exchange of experience between legal, medical and psychological specialists.
The two officials finally agreed on intensifying bilateral cooperation in the military field, including by contributing to the modernization and development of the two countries' defense institutions, as well as by continuing the participation of Moldovan and Ukrainian military in multinational exercises and international maintenance missions of peace.
