Moldovan-American dialogue at the Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, January 17, 2020 — Minister of Defense Victor Gaiciuc and Ambassador of the USA in the Republic of Moldova, Dereck J. Hogan, discussed today at the defense institution headquarters about the Moldovan-American defense cooperation and the perspective of its development for 2020.

In this regard, the officials referred to the main projects and assistance programs implemented in our country support of the US, but also the opportunities to train the National Army’s military staff within the American educational institutions.

Minister Gaiciuc and Ambassador Hogan also discussed the possibilities of preparing the Moldovan and US military for various joint activities in the country and abroad, including international peacekeeping exercises under the UN.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on the continuation of the initiated projects aimed at reforming the National Army, respecting the neutrality status of the country.
