The action plan dedicated to commemorating the Day of those killed in the Afghanistan War, analyzed at the Ministry of Defense

Chisinau, January 31, 2020 — Today, Minister of Defense, Victor Gaiciuc, presided the meeting of the Committee for Organization of Commemoration Day dedicated to those who died in the Afghanistan War, convened at the Ministry of Defense.

During the session, Council members reviewed order the activities planned for this event the financial difficulties and organizational issues. At the same time, were analyzed measures undertaken of the state authorities and institutions to solve the problems addressed, at the first meeting the National Council on War Participants’ problems of January 24th. In this regard, the Minister of Defense highlighted the importance of organizing the event at the highest level, one of the main aspects being ensuring efficient information and collaboration with representatives for structures. That is why, I request from all the structures involved — Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Union of Veterans of War in Afghanistan and local public authorities, a maximum involvement in organizing commemoration activities", said Victor Gaiciuc.

During the session, the participants established the directions and roles of each department involved in the organization of the activities included for Commemoration Day dedicated to those who died in the Afghanistan War.

Thus, in compliance with Government’s Provision No. 8 as of January 23, 2020, a series of actions dedicated to the commemoration of those who died in the war in Afghanistan will be organized during this year throughout the country.

Also, will be events to support the social protection of the families of those killed in the war, as well activities with the participation of veterans.
