More than 400 military of the National Army were on duty for the holidays



CHISINAU, April 21, 2020 — More than 400 soldiers of the National Army were on duty for the holidays, acting in support of the police to prevent the spread of the coronavirs.

Thus, according to the Operational Command Center, about 300 soldiers patrolled public places, parks and recreational areas in the municipalities of Chisinau, Balti and Cahul.

At the same time, over 100 soldiers from the "Moldova" Brigade, the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion and the Anti-Air Missile Regiment were at the fixed posts arranged in the quarantined localities - Talmaza, Carahasani, Stefan Voda, Soroca, Glodeni , and from April 20, in Brinzeni, Edinet.

The data provided by the COC show that in Brinzeni were deployed 18 soldiers of the National Army with three technical units, which monitor and supervise, together with the police, the movement of persons at the posts in the quarantined locality, at the decision of the Commission in Exceptional Situations with the increase in the number of cases of infection with the new coronavirus.

They were visited on Monday, April 20, by the commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan, who checked how the monitoring and verification points of people and transport were arranged at the entrance and exit of the village, how the military of the"Moldova" Brigade and the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion are equipped and what are the accommodation conditions.

The commander of the National Army mentioned, in the discussion with the military, about the strict observance of the protection rules against COVID-19, through regular sanitation and disinfection, including the rooms where they are housed, and thanked the structures involved in actions not to spread the new coronavirus. At the same time, in Edinet, General Gorgan participated in the meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations in the territory, and had meetings with the representatives of the local public administration from Edinet district.

It should be mentioned that during the Easter holidays, the military doctors from the Central Military Clinical Hospital were also on duty, continuing to provide assistance to patients with symptoms specific to the new coronavirus. At the same time, 340 medical workers were transported to work and home with the technical units of the National Army.
