Working visit to Marculesti

CHISINAU, April 24, 2020 — The Minister of Defense Alexandru Pinzari, accompanied by the commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan, undertook a working visit to the "Decebal" Aviation Regiment from Marculesti.

The officers became acquainted with the infrastructure of the unit, the working and living conditions of the staff. At the same time, the fleet and the state of the art of the Regiment`s equipment were inspected.

Alexandru Pinzari and General Gorgan also went to the Marculesti International Airport, where they documented the flight technique stationed on the runway.

The Minister of Defense also discussed with the staff the situation in the unit and the actions to combat the new coronavirus among the military and civilian employees of the Regiment. "We warned the staff about the need to comply with protection measures in the context of preventing COVID-19. At the same time, the existing problems were reported to me, being submitted proposals for the recovery of the situation in which the unit is", mentioned Alexandru Pinzari.

At the end of the visit, Minister Pinzari concluded that the unit is functional, and the military respects the rules imposed by the authorities in the context of the pandemic, honoring their service obligations with dignity.

On the same day, the commander of the National Army visited the radiolocation node of the Anti-air Missile Regiment, deployed in the Floresti garrison. The officer documented the condition of the equipment and armament and, together with the command of the unit, established the priority directions of activity for this military subdivision.
