The VETERAN telephone line received over 100 calls from veterans

CHISINAU, May 6, 2020 - The Ministry of Defense has received over 100 requests from war veterans since the launch of the VETERAN trust hotline.

According to the data provided by the crisis cell, set up within the institution, most people apply for help with food or medicine, free medical insurance, transport to hospital, financial aid, including allowances or allowances.

Also, some veterans call to receive information on various topics or to express their desire to join groups of volunteers to assist the Ministry of Defense in solving registered problems. Thus, so far, 23 people have offered to help veterans, along with the military.

Most of the calls come from war veterans and widows from Chisinau, as well as from the districts of Orhei, Hincesti, Causeni, Dubasari, Stefan-Voda, Edinet and other localities.

Minister of Defense Alexandru Pinzari, mentioned that for the most part, the problems stated by veterans were solved with the support of officials from Territorial Military Centers or Military Administrative Sections throughout the country, members of local public authorities, volunteers and representatives of Veterans Associations.

"Since the launch of this line, I have already received over a hundred requests, to which my colleagues reacted operatively, managing to solve 90 percent of them, in the shortest possible time. We remind veterans that they can contact us at any time to inform us about the problems they face", said Alexandru Pinzari.

It should be mentioned that the VETERAN telephone line was set up at the beginning of April, in order to manage the problems of war veterans and those of the force structures, the families of the fallen and the war widows.

The telephone line will continue to operate, and veterans are encouraged to call the telephone number: 022 25 20 65, 022 25 21 78, between 8.00-17.00 (Monday to Friday), or the mobile phone number 060705138, 24 / 24, to call for help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
