The medical staff of the National Army "from the front line", decorated by the Minister of Defense (video)

CHISINAU, May 21, 2020 - Minister of Defense Alexandru Pinzari decorated today with distinctions and diplomas a group of medical workers and officials from the Central Military Clinical Hospital, the Diagnostic Consultative Center and the medical-military subdivisions, involved in testing and treating people with symptoms of COVID-19, as well as in preventing the spread of this virus in the National Army.

The Minister of Defense thanked the staff of the institutions for their dedication, especially these days, specifying that these mentions are perhaps too small for the immense work done in the fight against COVID-19.

"Dear doctors, you are an example of winners, devotion and strength to be reborn. We have colleagues who defeated this virus because of your care and professionalism. We cherish and support you unconditionally, especially since we, the military, know exactly what it is like in the front line.

Now we applaud and decorate you, but we are also waiting for the moment when we will be able to shake your hand and even hug you ", declared Minister Pinzari during the decoration ceremony, held at the medical institution`s headquarters.

According to the head of the Central Military Clinical Hospital, Colonel Vladimir Trofimov, starting with March, the Central Military Clinical Hospital and the Diagnostic Consultative Center offer support to strategic medical institutions in hospitalizing and testing the health of people suspected of COVID-19 infection at the request of the Ministry of Health and Labor Social Protection.

To date, the Central Military Clinical Hospital has received and tested over 300 citizens who had symptoms specific to the new coronavirus.

After taking the tests, the positive ones were transported to the strategic medical institutions for treatment, the others with light forms being placed at home, under the supervision of family doctors from localities.

At the same time, a mobile team of nurses from the Diagnostic Consultative Center participates in taking and transporting biological samples from patients with mild coronavirus symptoms, who are receiving treatment at home.
