Officials were initially acquainted with the equipment available to the military, some types of explosives found in the ground, as well as the process of field research and liquidation of ammunition.

During the visit, Minister Alexandru Pinzari highlighted the contribution of the National Army engineers to the safety of citizens by discovering, identifying and neutralizing explosive objects left in the ground during the Second World War. "You have always been the ones who, at the request of people who detected unidentified ammunition, intervened without hesitation to do your duty. An example is the mission here, in Baltati, where you have been for almost two months. Your business presents huge risks not only in this case. However, I know that you are well-trained, professional and prudent in everything you do. Thank you for the dedication with which you take care of the safety of every citizen of the Republic of Moldova ", said the Minister of Defense.

As a sign of appreciation of his professionalism in fulfilling his missions, but also for the efforts made during the deminations in Baltati, Alexandru Pinzari decorated a group of engineers with the "Bărbăție și Curaj"(Manhood and Courage) medal of the National Army, diplomas and conferred military ranks.

According to the commander of the team of engineers responsible for the mission in Ialoveni district, Lieutenant-Colonel Gheorghe Banu, so far, engineers have investigated 27 hectares of forest in the region, where they found and liquidated over 800 explosive objects of different calibers.

The source specified that the mission continues the military will investigate another 19 hectares left, for the destruction of all the ammunition left in the ground, which presents a real danger for the local population.

It should be mentioned that the engineers from the "Codru" Genius Battalion intervened in the locality from Ialoveni district on April 23, at the request of the authorities, after two children were seriously injured as a result of the explosion of an unidentified object found in the region.
