National Army, on its the 29th anniversary



CHISINAU, September 3, 2020 - National Army Day was celebrated this year in a small format in all military garrisons.

Thus, in Chisinau, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff laid flowers at the monument of Stephen the Great and Saint and the Sorrowful Mother from the "Eternity" Memorial Complex.

Also, in the presence of the country`s supreme leadership, a ceremony was held at the Ministry of Defense to decorate the best military, civilian and veteran employees with state and National Army awards, as well as honorary diplomas.

During the event, President Igor Dodon congratulated the army on the occasion of the professional holiday, expressing his appreciation for their devotion and professionalism.

Today is the feast of the people directly involved in the complex process of ensuring the defense of the state, of all of you who demonstrate daily attitude, sacrifice, bravery and honor.

Looking back, we can see that the dynamic process of formation and development of the National Army led to its assertion as a guarantor of the independence of the Republic of Moldova, of the peaceful life of its citizens. Certainly, the power of the National Army is in its unity and solidarity with the people. The society highly appreciates the training and organized and active participation of the military in liquidating the consequences of natural and technological disasters. This year, you have been with us and helped us stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic said" Igor Dodon.

In his turn, the Minister of Defense, Alexandru Pinzari, mentioned the contribution of all military and civilian employees to the development of the defense institution.

"I know how much you love your country, but also your army, and we thank you for that. I also send congratulations to my colleagues in the missions. We will be insistent to the country`s leadership in order to create better conditions for activity and training ", said Alexandru Pinzari.

Also in the context of the 29th anniversary, the Minister of Defense met with the widows and mothers of the soldiers who fell in the armed conflict in 1992 to defend the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova.

The National Army was created on September 3, 1991, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova no. 194.
