Conference of Educators opens in Chisinau
Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta said military education had always concerned the Ministry’s of Defense leadership. The development of Military Academy means changing it into a scientific center of security and defense studies in the Republic of Moldova.
„The Ministry of Defense pays much attention to servicemen’s professional training and problems of strengthening military educational process”, the Minister of Defense stated. „Thus, I believe defense institutions may develop in term of education and science only through the joint effort of the Military Academy teaching staff and strong cooperation with Euro-Atlantic experts”.
Vitalie Marinuta also said Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy had progressed as far as building a modern military education system is concerned. Performances recorded in this area deal with the change from engineering specialty to public administration area, as well as the establishment of a EU-based curriculum.
The 5th Multinational Conference of Defense Educators entitled „Teaching Methodologies” is a premiere for the Republic of Moldova. The event is organized with the support of the Partnership for Peace (PfP) Consortium of Defense Academies and Security Studies Institutes.
The conference brought together 40 experts from 16 states such as: Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Ukraine, Macedonia, Serbia, Belarus, Bosnia — Herzegovina, Afghanistan, Jordan and others. The participants in the event will discuss about the possibility to implement new practices in teaching professional military staff.
The Multinational Conference of Defense Educators will run until June 3.
