KFOR-13 –four months of mission in Kosovo



CHISINAU, November 18, 2020 - National Army peacekeepers from the thirteenth contingent deployed in the KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo continue to carry out missions, along with their colleagues from other states.

According to the commander of the KFOR-13 contingent, Lieutenant-Colonel Veaceslav Corcodel, the Moldovan military ensures the security of the "Camp Vilaggio Italia" base in Pech, the protection of the Visoki Dean Monastery in the region, carries out on foot patrols and by car.

The source mentioned that the military participates in joint training sessions with foreign partners to increase the response capacity of the staff. At the same time, the engineering team conducts reconnaissance and research missions of helicopter landing areas, as well as coordination meetings with the EOD group of the Regional Command - West. "I want to assure you that the subordinate force strictly complies with all the protection measures against COVID-19, established by the operation command. Until now, we have not had cases of infection among our soldiers ", said Lieutenant-Colonel Corcodel.

 

The KFOR-13 contingent was deployed in the Kosovo peacekeeping operation on July 10, 2020, consisting of 41 professional soldiers.
