Ministry of Defense - 29 years of activity

CHISINAU, February 5, 2021 — Today, the Ministry of Defense celebrates 29 years since its creation.

On this occasion, the acting minister, Victor Gaiciuc, congratulated the staff of the institution and handed over to a group of soldiers and civil servants distinctions of the National Army and diplomas.

The Minister of Defense stated that during all this time, the institution had valuable specialists, who contributed significantly to the development of the defense and security sector of our country. "Due to the dedication and work of the people, who have worked over time in the Ministry of Defense, today the institution has become a structure of trust in society and receptive to the requests of citizens. The teamwork of the military and civilian employees, especially in this pandemic period, was a very important one for our institution, because we had to comply with the new rigors, to operate in a rather complicated environment.
However, I am glad that toget her we managed to work just as productively and get good results", said Victor Gaiciuc.

The Ministry of Defense was created on February 5, 1992, by decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova. The mission of the institution is the elaboration and promotion of the state policy in ensuring the national defense, leading and coordinating the activities of the National Army in the field of state defense and security.
