Minister of Defense talks with military monitoring compliance with anti-COVID measures in Chisinau



CHISINAU, April 9, 2021 - Acting Minister of Defense Victor Gaiciuc and National Army Commander, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan, met today with the military from the General Staff Regiment "Brigadier General Nicolae Petrica", involved in compliance monitoring actions anti-COVID measures in Chisinau, since the establishment of the public health emergency.

The Minister of Defense thanked the military for their dedication and urged them to continue to carry out their missions with maximum responsibility.

"The safety of citizens, but also your safety, is a priority for the Ministry of Defense and the National Army. Therefore, I urge you to be vigilant, to respect the protection measures and to urge the population to do the same, because only together we can defeat the pandemic ", specified Victor Gaiciuc.

In the same context, the Minister of Defense mentioned that, this week, he received a series of calls for thanks from civil society, which indicates that the presence of the military on the streets of the capital, in support of colleagues in law enforcement, empowers citizens and prevents the spread of the new coronavirus.

We mention that according to the decision of the Extraordinary National Commission of Public Health, the soldiers of the National Army from the Chisinau and Balti garrisons patrol public places, parks and recreational areas. At the same time, the military monitors the observance by the citizens of the measures imposed by the authorities in the public transport stations in Chisinau.
