General Staff of the National Army - 29 years of activity
CHISINAU, April 23, 2021 - Today, the General Staff of the National Army celebrated 29 years since the formation of the structure.
On this occasion, a group of military and civilian employees was decorated with awards and diplomas.
In this context, the commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan mentioned the professionalism and dedication with which the subordinate personnel fulfill their duties. "The actions taken lately to consolidate the efforts of all the structures of the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense, but also the military units, ensure a high level of combat training and the development of the necessary capabilities for the missions determined by the national legislation. We always tend to be more interoperable, more organized, to work in a team, so that together we can build a professional army, an army that can fulfill its missions ", specified Brigadier General Gorgan.
Present at the event, the Minister of Defense in office Victor Gaiciuc congratulated all those who form the team of the General Staff of the National Army, highlighting the importance of this structure for the defense system of the Republic of Moldova."The General Staff of the National Army is the mainstay in the country`s defense structure. The military working in this institution has always been appreciated for the professionalism shown in various circumstances, both in exercises and missions, actions to support the population during natural disasters, and during the state of emergency in public health. As Minister of Defense, I want to sincerely thank you for the excellent way you do your job, in various kinds of weapons and to urge you to continue your work at the same level and maybe even better ", said Minister Gaiciuc.
The ceremony was attended by the General State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Rostislav Rotari, Divisional General Ion Coropcean, former Chief of the General Staff, as well as veterans of the institution.
The General Staff of the National Army was formed on April 24, 1992.
