The exhibition "Enigma". The victory of decryption", inaugurated at the Agency for Military Science and Memory
CHISINAU, May 14, 2021 - Acting Defense Minister Victor Gaiciuc, participated today in the launching ceremony of the temporary thematic exhibition "Enigma. The victory of the decryption", held at the Agency for Military Science and Memory.
The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova and the embassy of Poland in Chisinau.
Minister Gaiciuc appreciated the effort of all those involved in documenting and organizing the respective action. "I believe that such an exhibition was necessary so that we do not forget the tragic events that affected the whole world 76 years ago, including the Polish people, because we keep alive the memory of the heroic deeds of the participants in this war," said Minister Gaiciuc.
The Ambassador of Poland to Chisinau, Bertlomiej Zdaniuk, mentioned that through this poster exhibition, the public of the Republic of Moldova will have the opportunity to know the glorious pages of his country from that period. "I thank our partners in the Republic of Moldova for their contribution to the exhibition of these works, which are part of the history of the Polish people, and I hope that visitors to the exhibition will be impressed by these documentary photographs," said Bertlomiej Zdaniuk.
According to the director of the Agency for Military Science and Memory, Maj. Gen. Ion Coropcean, the exhibition includes 20 posters, which reflect the history of the Polish mathematicians breaking the codes of the German encryption machine "Enigma" on the eve of the Second World War.
The source specified that the exhibition "Enigma. The victory of the decryption" will remain open to the public until June 1.
