The Delegation of the Geneva Center for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces paid a visit to the Ministry of Defense
Chisinau, 2 November 2021 – Representatives of the Ministry of Defense held today a working meeting with the delegation of the Geneva Center for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), who is on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova.
During the meeting, it was discussed the possibility of initiating assistance projects in the field of reform of the security and defense sector in the Republic of Moldova.
The Secretary of State Valeriu Mija appreciated the initiative of the Geneva delegation to support efforts to modernize the National Army and to transform it into an institution adjusted to international democratic standards.
At the same time, Valeriu Mija mentioned the priorities of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova in the defense and security sector. During the visit to the Republic of Moldova, the DCAF delegation will familiarize itself with the activity of the Military Academy of the Armed Forces "Alexandru cel Bun".
To note that the collaboration relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Geneva Center for the Democratic Control of the Armed Forces started in 2002.
