Minister of Defense Anatolie Nostatii met today with his Lituanian counterpart (video)
CHISINAU, November 4, 2021 - "The presence of Minister Arvydas Anušauskas in Chisinau represents the message that Lithuania is a credible partner and a strong supporter of the Republic of Moldova in achieving the goal of European integration and expanding its contribution to ensuring international peace and stability."
The statement was made today by Minister Anatolie Nosatii during the official visit of his Lithuanian counterpart to the Ministry of Defense.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the reform in the field of defense and the development priorities of the National Army, the progress made in achieving the established bilateral cooperation, as well as the development prospects of this partnership in the context of European integration.
The talks also included topics on the country`s top security objectives aimed at state security and defense, politico-military issues, participation in international peacekeeping operations, as well as bilateral military cooperation and regional security.
On this occasion, Ministers Anatolie Nosatii and Arvydas Anušauskas signed the Bilateral Cooperation Plan for 2022, emphasizing the importance of developing the defense sector of the Republic of Moldova in accordance with democratic standards, especially in constructive dialogue and cooperation through various international platforms and initiatives.
It should be noted that the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania, Arvydas Anušauskas, pays an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on November 3 -5, in accordance with the External Activity Plan of the Ministry of Defense and National Army for 2021. The agenda of the visit includes meetings work at the Parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, as well as with some representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in our country.
The Republic of Moldova and Lithuania have been cooperating in the military since 2000.
