In October, Military Engineers neutralized 95 explosive objects

CHISINAU, November 9, 2021 - During October, the engineer teams of the National Army performed 17 demining missions, being requested in localities in the districts of Stefan Voda, Anenii Noi and Ungheni.

Following the ground investigation, the military engineers found 95 explosive objects and 1,469 cartridges of different calibers.

Thus, during that period, the demining group of the Genius Battalion "Codru", led by Captain Anatolii Gudumac, neutralized a 25 kg aviation bomb, discovered in Puhaceni, Anenii Noi district. The same team intervened, on October 4 and 11, in Rascaieti locality from Stefan Voda district, where it detected, on an agricultural field, 65 artillery projectiles, 1,109 cartridges of different caliber, as well as 12 anti-personnel mines.

All explosive objects were destroyed in maximum security.

Since the beginning of this year, the engineers of the National Army have liquidated a total number of 970 explosive objects and 13,900 cartridges.

NOTE: The Ministry of Defense warns that in areas where there is or is supposed to be ammunition, citizens are asked to notify the local authorities. In case of detection of unidentified explosive objects, it is strictly forbidden to touch the ammunition, to hit or move the ammunition found in the ground or on the surface, to disassemble the warheads or other components.
