New Uniforms for Military Parade Participants



CHISINAU, June 23, 2011 — Military personnel of the National Army will wear new uniforms at the military parade as of August 27, 2011, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Republic of Moldova Independence. The new models of the uniform have been presented today, June 23, at the Ministry of Defense.

According to Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta, the military parade participants will be dressed for the first time in new uniforms approved through Republic of Moldova President Decree. 378 servicemen of the Ministry of Defense and Main Staff, as well as military unit commanders, will wear the new parade uniform. 640 servicemen will be dressed in camouflage uniforms for training and active service. The parade uniform costs 2050 MDL, while the camouflage — 1137 MDL.

The new model of uniforms is meant to raise effectiveness, ease the work in difficult conditions. These uniforms are much more comfortable to wear. At the same time, there will be no groundless expenses for producing them, Marinuta stated. 2438013 MDL will be spent for the parade and camouflage uniforms, inventory equipment, distinctive signs and accessories.

The military parade will bring together 1528 people. Thus, the Ministry of Defense will contribute 1018 people (including 91 participants in the 1992 War), Minister of the Interior — 389 people, and the Border Guard Service — 121 people. At the same time, 86 cars and armored vehicles will take part in the military parade.

On the 20th anniversary of Republic of Moldova Independence Day held August 27, 2011, the military parade involving military units of the National Army, subdivisions of the Ministry of the Interior and the Border Guard Service, military equipment and vehicles, will start at 10:00 in Marii Adunari Nationale Square from Chisinau.
