The national program of actions dedicated to the Year of Gratitude has been approved
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the National Program of actions dedicated to the Year of Gratitude to war veterans who defended the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova.
The document provides for the creation and approval of the Committee for the organization and coordination of the activities provided for in the program during 2022. The public authorities will take the necessary measures for the full and timely implementation of the Program and will submit quarterly reports to the State Chancellery (Bureau for Relations with Veterans) on the implementation of the actions envisaged.
According to the Program, a distinction will be established and awarded (in the course of the year) on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the actions for the defense of the country`s integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova. In several localities of the country - streets, gymnasiums and high schools will be renamed in honor of the natives fallen in the battles, and commemorative plaques will be installed on some buildings. Activities will be organized to restore and decorate monuments, memorial plaques and graves of the fallen heroes of 1992 and those who died during the peace period.
All actions included in the Program will be carried out from the financial means of the public authorities/institutions involved, approved in the state budget, as well as from other legal sources.
Also today, the Plan of activities to mark the Memorial Day of the fallen in Afghanistan on February 15 was approved.
The plan provides a series of events to be organized throughout the year, including divine services in holy places, commemoration ceremonies, laying of flowers, educational and patriotic activities and meetings with war veterans.
