Actions dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen in Afghanistan, in the attention of the organizing committee
CHISINAU, February 9, 2022 - Representatives of central and local public authorities, as well as representatives of the Union of Afghanistan War Veterans who are part of the Organizing Committee for the events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen in Afghanistan met today at the Ministry of Defense.
During the meeting, led by the Minister Defense Anatolie Nosatii, those present discussed the actions foreseen in the Plan of events to mark February 15 and the scenario planning of the activities to be organized both in Chisinau municipality and in the country`s districts.
The participants also discussed logistical and financial issues in the organization of commemoration events, as well as issues of medical insurance, social protection of Afghanistan War veterans and families of the fallen.
During the meeting, Minister Nosatii mentioned the importance of organizing all commemoration events throughout the Republic of Moldova at a high level and asked the members of the Committee to do their utmost in this context.
At the end, the participants of the meeting agreed on the organization of all the events foreseen in the Action Plan in accordance with the strict observance of the COVID-19 infection prevention measures established by the Extraordinary National Public Health Commission.
The events dedicated to the Day of Commemoration of the fallen heroes of the war in Afghanistan are being held in accordance with the Government`s Order No. 26-d of February 2 this year. The action plan includes the organization of thematic exhibitions, educational-patriotic activities, commemoration ceremonies, laying of flowers, meetings of veterans with young people in schools and military units, installation of memorials and commemorative plaques.
