Members of the Organizing Committee discussed the National Program of Actions dedicated to the Year of Gratitude to Veterans
CHISINAU, February 11, 2022 - Today, at the headquarters of the Agency for Science and Military Memory, took place the first working meeting of the Organizing Committee for the organization and coordination, during 2022, of the activities related to the National Program of Actions dedicated to the Year of Recognition of War Veterans, participants in the actions of struggle for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova.
According to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Sergiu Plop, President of the Committee, the meeting discussed the actions, tasks and missions to be carried out by each public authority/institution, together with the partners of the Program. The source specified that the public authorities will take the necessary measures for the full and timely implementation of the program and will submit quarterly reports to the State Chancellery (Office for Veterans` Relations) on the implementation of the planned actions.
The Organizing Committee includes representatives of: Ministry of Internal Affairs, Office for Veterans` Relations of the State Chancellery, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Ministry of Education and Research, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Culture, National Social Insurance House, National Social Assistance Agency, National Public Broadcasting Institution "Teleradio-Moldova" Company, State Enterprise "Post of Moldova", Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova, as well as the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
The meeting was held in strict compliance with all the measures required to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It should be noted that the National Program of actions dedicated to the Year of Recognition of war veterans, participants in the actions of struggle for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova provides for the establishment and awarding (during the year) of the distinction on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the actions of struggle for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova. In several localities of the country - streets, gymnasiums and high schools will be renamed in honor of the natives fallen in the battles, and commemorative plaques will be installed on some buildings. Activities will be organized to restore and decorate monuments, memorial plaques and graves of the fallen heroes of 1992 and those who died during the peace period.
