The plan of events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Thanksgiving approved by the Executive


On the Day of Remembrance and Thanksgiving, on March 2, activities will be organized in several localities to commemorate the fallen heroes of the 1992 armed conflict for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova. A decision to this effect was approved today by the Executive.

The document includes the plan of the events, which will be held as a sign of gratitude of the state and society to the outstanding merits of the veterans of the 1992 armed conflict. According to the plan, persons disabled from combat actions and families of the fallen will receive material aid annually, and war veterans will receive a comprehensive medical examination and, if necessary, hospital and balneological treatment.

There will also be exhibitions of documents and historical material dedicated to fallen heroes, sports competitions, and educational-patriotic activities in educational institutions. At the same time, the participants in the actions to defend the integrity and independence of the country will meet with recruits, young employees of the National Army, the Intelligence and Security Service, and institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The events will be held in strict compliance with the measures for the prevention and control of COVID-19 infection set out in the decisions of the Extraordinary National Public Health Commission.

The year 2022 is declared the year of gratitude to the war veterans who participated in the actions of the struggle for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova.
