Peacekeepers of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion - Refugee Support (video)

CHISINAU, March 3, 2022 - The soldiers of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion "Blue Helmets" provided support for the arrangement of the refugee placement center, opened by the central public authorities at Î.S. "The handling of light athletics" Chisinau municipality.

According to the commander of the 22nd Battalion, Lieutenant-Colonel Ion Cotofana, the peacekeepers helped to arrange 500 folding beds, mattresses, blankets, pillows for people coming from Ukraine.

The material goods were released by the Material Reserves Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from the mobilization reserves, based on Decision no. 19 of March 2, 2022, of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.

The source specified that the military worked during the night, so that on the morning of March 3, the placement center would be ready to receive the first refugees.

It should be mentioned that during the state of emergency, the staff of the National Army is involved in several such activities, in Chisinau and other localities in the country, actions that come in support of central and local public authorities.

Last week, a group of military students from the Military Academy of the Armed Forces "Alexandru cel Bun" helped transport material goods and arrange beds in a specially arranged room on the territory of the Moldexpo Center.

At the same time, a temporary refugee placement center with a capacity of 200 places was created on the territory of a military unit.
