Minister of Defense, in dialogue with the new US Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova

CHISINAU, March 11, 2022 - Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosati had a meeting today with the new US ambassador to Chisinau, Kent D. Logsdon.

Officials discussed the refugee crisis facing our country in the context of the worsening security situation in Ukraine, bilateral cooperation in the military segment, as well as opportunities to intensify the partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the USA in the strategic dialogue.

On that occasion, Minister Nosati informed the American diplomat about the priorities of the leadership of the defense institution, including providing the necessary support to civilian authorities in managing crisis situations, which is vital in the current security context, as well as participating in international operations peacekeeping and development of defense capabilities.

Anatolie Nosatii also thanked the American side for its assistance over the years in various programs and projects aimed at, including military reform, expertise in drafting policy documents, training the National Army in specialized courses and multinational exercises.

For his part, Ambassador Logsdon reiterated his country`s support for efforts to transform the National Army in line with international standards and the continuation of bilateral programs initiated in this context.
