Moldovan peacekeepers at the KFOR Invictus Challenge

CHISINAU, March 17, 2022 - The National Army service members from the 16th National Army contingent in the KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo participated in the KFOR Invictus Challenge. The event took place on the territory of the Film City military base in Pristina and brought together military teams from Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, Poland, Latvia, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, USA, Croatia, Austria, and Czech Republic.

According to the KFOR-16 commander, Lieutenant Colonel

Vladimir Covalenco, six peacekeepers from the National Army took part in the activity, and together with their colleagues from other contingents, performed various physical exercises, both individually and in groups. The event is a first for KFOR and aims to develop team spirit and increase interoperability between international contingents, "said Lt. Col. Covalenco.

It should be noted that in addition to the basic missions established by the KFOR command, Moldovan peacekeepers also participate in other sporting events organized by the military from other states, such as the DANCON March competition, held by the Danish contingent for charity. In 2019, a National Army soldier took second place in this event.
